Organisation

Organising anything in general :

1. Firstly always & always make a rough sketch on a paper of whatever you have in your head regarding a particular thing that you want to do ( This will free up space in your head & contents of your head will be right in front of your eyes for further processing )

2. Keep everything related segregated and organised right in front of your eyes . This gives a clear picture of what you need or what you don’t need. So after this you can keep the things and remove the things which are of no use for performing or achieving a particular task.

3. If the task in hand is bigger, just subcategorise it to smaller task for easier achivement of smaller goals simultaneously leading to achieving of bigger goals. Along with achieving your goal , you can follow your some hobby to relax your mind and free-up more space in your head to absorb more. Thereby rejuvenating your brain to take up task efficiently once again.

4. As you keep on moving forward by finishing your smaller goals, keep on reviewing for any discrepancies, additions, subtraction to give them final nod .

Utensils :

Every kitchen is always decorated by utensils (from daily use to serving guests) as they form the major part of any kitchen. They are used in cooking, serving , storing etc. The types of utensils used might differ from place to place but on an average the basic utensils remains the same . For example: Pressure cooker is most of the time used to boil daal or potato to save time. So here the purpose is to save and therefore pressure cooker becomes handy here .

Kitchen continued:-

When we are moving to a new place, we should always prefer home cooked food for health reasons. So we should always get our kitchen ready as our first priority. Also & always you can sort, structure and re-structure your existing kitchen.

So Here we go :

  • Gas Stove – It is the foundation of any kitchen ( although induction are also used these days but the basic purpose of both remains the same i.e cooking) . You can buy any number stoved gas( these days you find pre-fitted Gas stoves according to your needs) as per your convenience & need. For example – You might be comfortable with a 3-stoved gas on a daily basis for a couple but 4-stoved gas is really a bonus when you have any family or friends gatherings at your place. So check which one is your budget-friendly & serves your needs well.
  • Green gas/LPG connection/or any other supply of cooking gas at your place of residence- Here you should usually go for pipelines supplies like green gas as they are safer, environment and budget-friendly.
  • Potable water- water which is apt for drinking is potable water. These days water is highly contaminated . Drinking of such contaminated water leads to many water-borne diseases. Incase you are settling in a completely new place, you might really not know about the quality of water . So not to take any chance ,we should always have a purifier installed before hand at our place to have clean water for drinking and cooking purposes.
  • Utensils – As we all know these are basically used to serve food. These can be made of various kinds of metals based upon need, choice, health and even status. The types of utensils & their names might differ from state to state or from country to country ,basic purpose remaining the same . For example- Bowls for either soup or curries that is to mainly hold liquid and semi-liquid material ( I will be taking up a different Blogpost on Utensils types & Different types of metals used in Cookwares)
  • Utilities – These are the things in kitchen which makes various preparing & cooking of meals faster & easier thereby saving a lot of time & making cooking an enjoyable process.
  • Gadgets- Like utilities, these also are a big-time saver. These are mainly choosen according to the types of food you eat on daily basis . For example – If you need paste of onion garlic for curries or say tomato puree for your soup, you will need a grinder.
  • Kitchen racks & organisers – we need organisers for a sorted kitchen for storing stuff neatly and easily accessible thereby increasing productivity in the kitchen . Also additional spaces can be created using these. These can be various types . I will taking up these in a different Blogpost .
  • Pantry- For cooking any meal, we require few supplies or items to prepare a particular dish . So these items are mainly categorised as our ‘Pantry’. It is the most important & building block of any kitchen .
  • Cleaning Supplies – To have safe & hygienic kitchen, we should keep our kitchen rid of dust, Diseases causing pests etc. So I’ll share a list of things and cleaning supplies which can help everyone to keep their kitchen a health-friendly place.

So without any second-thoughts we should set up our kitchen first. It is a very dynamic area as it has variety of contents & different types of meals are cooked in different times of the day everyday. List of stuffs important for any kitchen might really become endless according to the needs, size and even age group sometimes but here iam broadly listing out things that forms the basis of any kitchen irrespective of any parameters.

Food Frauds :

As we all know these days, everyday food products could have been illegally altered or contain fraudulent ingredients. Organised criminal groups deliberately deceive consumers about the contents or quality of food products. Now since you are moving to an entirely new place or otherwise also, you should be aware of these fake goods you may end up buying .

These goods may fall in the following categories –

  • Food products
  • Medicines
  • Electronic appliances
  • And many other things like toys, cosmetics, perfumes, handbags, watches, & jewellery etc.

There are serious health & safety risks for consumers . Products that are counterfeit are also likely to be sub-standard or faulty & therefore dangerous. I’ll be specifically taking up food products as they form the base & directly affect our health & life . There are two main types of food crimes :. 1. Selling food unfit for consumption- This includes the following two below categorise- a. Selling animal products of unknown origin . For example -. b. Re-labelling products past their ‘use-by’ dayes. For example-

2. Bulking up, substituting, adulterating, mis-labelling – This includes :. a. Substitution of whole food or any ingredients with cheaper alternatives which can be harmful to health . Example -. b . Mis-labelling the quality or source of ingredients . Example –

Here is a list of few counterfeit items –

  • Honey – Illicitly produced honey or adulterated has been found to contain potentially harmful antibiotics. So always read the ingredients & avoid products that have added sugar or syrup. Preferably buy from a local producer wherever possible.
  • Coffee – Always prefer coffee in whole bean form over granulated one as latter is adulterated with roasted barley, & even pieces of twigs.
  • Milk – It is often adulterated with diluted water, detergent, fat, urea, chalk while ‘Khoya’ a product of milk is adulterated with paper, refined oil & skimmed milk powder.

-How to go about the process choosing the right kind of kitchen things for yourself if you are setting up your kitchen for the first time?

Let’s accumulate some knowledge while learning the process of Home management:

– Why Earth never warms up or gets cooler?

– Earth receives energy from sun & radiates it back to space . So it never warms up or gets cooler.

– which the highest active volcano in the world and where it is situated ?

How to go about the process of Home management?

Management of anything in itself requires few things at three levels which are mental level, emotional level and physical level . So does Home management.

At mental level – you should be ready to take up the task of managing which is fun but at times tiring mentally . You should strategise beforehand to make task comparatively easier. To strategise you can take the following steps :

1. Sit with pen & paper( preferably A4 sheet as you will need lot of space to enlist). List down areas of your home on priority basis leaving space between every listed area. These days notepads in Android or any smartphone becomes really handy & also they are really easy to update & edit . So use whatever is to your convenience .

At emotional level – As there are lot of emotions invested in the process, It sometimes might feel overwhelming making us feel demotivated, frustrated etc. The key to finding the balance at this level is to go slow, learning & absorbing simultaneously to make the process emotionally empowering . To drain or vent that emotional tiredness or any feeling of imbalance you can follow the below steps:

At physical level – There are lot of physical efforts required in the process . From setting up to structuring to eventually sorting & organising demands movement & physical activeness . So always go on with the process on days when you feel energetic & healthy.

Advantages of the process of Home Management:

  • It keeps your home sorted & organised which makes our place much more welcoming & productive .
  • An organised home makes our inner world also organised . There is much more mental clarity of everything .
  • It increases your sense of achievement & there is constant feeling of joy & happiness which ultimately leads to a cheerful environment in our lovely homes.
